Love this place. Great service, great food, reasonable price and open all the time!

Used to be go to late night place was 24 hours since 1970s but now closes at 10 I believe. As far as greasy spoons go food really good bit pricey for your average greasy spoon but they have specials you don't see everywhere else like my favorite chicken ala king. Great navy bean soup too

This is the real thing. A completely non-corporate family style restaurant. A vanishing species.

We went to dinner tonight and were not delighted. When my husband ordered the meatloaf he said does it have mushrooms and we were told no. To his surprise the gravy was full of it. He hates mushrooms. My club sandwich had bacon overcooked and tomato a half inch thick. It was so hard to chew. The kids had meals from their kids menu and they were both great. Big portions and very appetizing. Over all we will probably only go there for breakfast items.

I little too warm while eating... Other than that great wait staff.

Not so good, they use to b alot better at there food and it dont hurt to see some young smiling faces not old wash up faces with the same fake smile over and over I mean come on! I rather eat at Dunkin across the street they have better food and drinks, and if ur really hungry just keep heading south on higgins to Harlem theres a 24/7 TBK rite on the right hand corner cant miss it!!!

A nice mom and pop diner with plenty of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Classic diner on the Northwest side of the city. Friendly staff and big portions. Great selection of breakfasts. Will be busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Good old time quality & fair price!

I really like this place because it is one of the only old school diners left in Chicago so i try to support it every chance i get and the food is good quality and the service is super fast in the morning. Food often comes in 3-5 minutes after ordering so a busy guy can get in and out in less than 15 minutes.But 1 GLARING PROBLEM!! THE WHOLE PLACE SMELLS LIKE THE BATHROOM!!It's very unsettling and unappetizing and it is the 1 reason why I constantly look for an alternative every morning.PLEASE FIX YOUR SMELL PROBLEM! BECAUSE IM SURE YOU ARE LOSING TONS OF BUSINESS BECAUSE OF IT!!

First time here an the place was crowded for breakfast. Sat down an the waitress asked us if we wanted coffee. Checking the menu and we were ready to order. The waitress was very nice and service was good . The only down fall was we waited longer than usual to get are food. The waitress let us know the delay was because there was a large order placed in front of ours. Over all the food was good an we would come back.

Big Top has the best Turkey Club sandwich in Chicago & it's close to home.

I go here all the time for the chicken fried steak or the breakfast skillet. Really good, reasonably priced diner food. Everyone who works here is always so friendly. Plus they're one of the few places in the immediate area open 24 hours (except on Sundays).EDIT: Sadly, they’re no longer open 24 hours - they close at 9pm now. No more late night chicken fried steak. :(

I went yesterday morning around 8:45 am, our waitress was an older lady. She was an absolute sweetheart and perfect at her job, she was patient with my questions and didn't make me feel bad for asking! I had a mushroom omelette with rye toast, it was delicious!!! They even had Louisiana hot sauce! The decor is still classic, but beautiful and very clean. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a happy start to your day!

Went on a Wednesday night at 11 pm, place was quiet with only two other tables occupied. Typical greasy diner menu, mozzarella sticks were 💯. The only thing we didn't like at all was the fried zucchini. The smell was overwhelming. It smelled like carpet powder and was nauseating. I'm not sure if this is typical, or a one time thing but I'm willing to try again...breakfast this time!

I had a great breakfast here. It's one of the few places open really early.The pancakes were made just right. The eggs were cooked to perfection. Also, very good bacon.The people are nice and friendly. And the place is clean.When I'm looking for an early breakfast, this is the place.

My mom & I have been here twice already and we love it. You get plenty of food for a decent price and it tastes good. There's also a huge variety, so you have plenty of options to choose from.

Went here for lunch one day. We loved the sign! The place was spacious and clean. The waitress was super nice and after telling her that it was our first time she gave us suggestions and helped us narrow down the extensive menu. I had the spaghetti and loved it. It came with a salad and the portions were ample. The place had lots of regulars. The waitresses knew lots of people by name and customers knew one another. Would def go back

Good food, large portions for the money. Great go to place any time of day or night. Many items on the menu. Homemade soups. Nice, friendly staff. A neighborhood favorite. Overall, a nice place to unwind and enjoy a good meal.

We were regulars here. We've went every Sunday for omelets. Yesterday they brought a bread basket with a half eaten roll in it. Then the waitress refused to refill our ice teas. Honestly we only had a couple sips since they were all filled with ice. Ended up leaving thirsty and mad. Never had a refill request refused. The owner is a really nice guy. Too bad the waitress we had was so nasty to us. We won't be back.

Big Top is a mom and Pop place with a good and affordable menu. They also serve breakfast all hours that they are open. Definitely a plus in my book.Service is top notch and they have a following of regulars.I had the egg. Cheese crescent sandwich which comes with your choice of meat and hashbrowns for a slim price of 7.50!Hubs had a poor boy sandwich which came with soup and fries for 9.50Will definitely be back!

During our stay in Chicago, we loved eating at the Big Top. Great friendly service and food. Quality food at reasonable prices.

Solid dinner food, with the friendliest wait staff at nearly any restaurant. The food is pretty okay, and the decor is pretty 80's. Their ice cream is also a nice treat

To me this is a restaurant all about comfort food. Good food, good portions, friendly staff. It reminds me of 30 years ago when you could find a good restaurant in every neighborhood. Big Top has lasted and is still serving food that leaves you going home satisfied.

The restaurant was busy, but seated quickly. The service was great, and quick, even though it was busy. 5 meals served, and not a complaint from anyone. Friendly and courteous staff.

We went there to have lunch and was very impressed with the wide variety of food on their menu. The skirt steak and breaded veal dinners we had were great. Thanks to our waitress Maryann for very good service also.

Food tastes great. The pancakes and crepes were both delicious. The service was awesome. Our server was very attentive and welcoming. The food came out hot and fast. The food is fairly priced. It can get busy during breakfast hours on the weekend, and seating is limited. I would recommend this spot.

If you always​ wondered: where could i find a David Lynch-esque restaurant? You know, the kind they had on Twin Picks - this is it. It's old, the waitress are comical in their normalcy. They do call you "hon" or "honey" and it feels like you're in a time capsule. Even the cash register is still old school. I love it! The breakfast food was a topical dinner food. When you order a mushroom omlete, they mean business; it's mushrooms only so, don't forget to ask for some cheese in it if that's the way you like it. The seasoning includes salt and pepper and a hot sauce with ketchup. Just like in the old movies. I personally love visiting places like that, it makes me feel like I'm on vacation. Enjoy.

I had my first date with my Fiance here, her choice. Therefore, automatic 5 stars!In all seriousness the food and service was good. Has a nice country road diner feel to it.

Great neighborhood diner....straight out of the 70s

Love this place and wish they were still open 24 hours...Ordered the turkey dinner to share with my boyfriend..Waitress brought it to us separated onto 2 plates without even asking...That was awesome! The portion were so huge on those 2 plates we thought she misunderstood us and brought us 2 dinners...That's how much food was on each plate. Food was excellent. Great service!!

Excellent breakfast food. Great service. So nice.

The food is average but the eggs are consistently under cooked in skillets and omelettes. Lunch food is much better but overall nothing special. Service is friendly enough but one particular server never seems to remember all her tables and I have had to ask for her more than once.
